• Aerospace-Grade Skeletal Plinth: The heart of the Planar 8 is its ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core plinth, sandwiched between layers of High-Pressure Laminate (HPL). It is 30% lighter than the original RP8, yet delivers unmatched structural rigidity to prevent energy loss.

• Double Brace Technology: Mass absorbs energy, and absorbed energy equals lost music. Rega uses a specific "stressed beam" design that mounts a rigid ceramic top brace and a brass bottom brace exactly where structural stiffness is needed most—directly between the tonearm mounting and the main hub bearing.
